Job summary

City Colleges of Chicago's Malcolm X College seeks an Executive Director of Career and Workforce Development to lead career advising, education programming, and workforce initiatives, aligning services with student success goals.

Reporting to the college President, this role manages staff, partnerships with employers, and data-driven improvement of services, with a focus on job placement, career readiness, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in student affairs, higher education, administration, career education, workforce development, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred for senior leadership.
• Five years in administrative or supervisory roles in career services or related programming in higher education or nonprofit settings.
• Experience with student information systems and data analysis.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Career Center to support student engagement, retention, and success.
• Collaborate with employers to create job, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities.
• Oversee career planning, education programming, and workforce development.
