Job summary

GreenMark Equipment is seeking a detail-oriented Service Writer to support the service department in southwestern Michigan and northern Indiana. The role involves handling customer inquiries, opening and tracking work orders, and ensuring timely invoicing and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a service environment, basic accounting and computer skills, and strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a service department.
• Experience with basic accounting practices.
• Experience with basic computer functions.
• Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department.
• Opens work orders as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman and maintains control until they are closed and invoiced.
• Maintains service department filings and records with current information (manuals, bulletins, etc.).
• Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work order.
• Maintains service accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders.
• May prepare Service Technician labor performance, productivity, and efficiency reports.
• May process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges, submission and follow-up.

Answers customer inquiries about service work and generates repair quotes.
