Ken Garff Automotive Group is hiring a Dealership Controller to oversee accounting for multiple dealerships in South Houston. The role requires overseeing transaction processing, cash flow, payables/receivables, inventory, taxes, HR/payroll and fixed assets while ensuring compliance with Garff Standards.

Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years in a franchise dealer office, 2–3 years in a supervisory role, strong Excel skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP with experience in DMS systems such as

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Will be responsible for handling multiple dealerships in South Houston.
• Direct and coordinate the dealership accounting in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and the Garff Standards.
• Accounting responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Transaction processing
• Cash management
• Account receivables
• Account payables
• Inventory management
• Taxes and licensing
• HR/Payroll
• Fixed assets
• Document security, retention and archiving
• Claims management
• Comply with the internal and external reporting requirements in accordance with guidelines, format, and the time frame requested.
• Review reports with Managers and provide analysis as necessary
• Seek out and attend regular training regarding legal handling and processing of documents, employment law, and financial reporting
• Develop, implement, and audit policies and procedures that ensure proper compliance with legal and company guidelines regarding document processing, employment law, and financial reporting
• Safeguard the assets of the company.
• Establish adequate segregation of duties and accounting processes to minimize financial risk.
• Meet monthly with General Managers, Office Managers, and office staff regarding compliance issues, handling of documentation, and financial reporting, and train on best known practices.
• Monitor and analyze dealership performance and work with the General Manager to discuss and make recommendations in the following areas:
• Profit Improvement (Gross Analysis, Variable Expense Analysis & Fixed Expense Analysis)
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Cash Flow Analysis
• Balance Sheet Analysis
• Change Management
• Operational Standards

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 7 to 10 years of experience working in a franchise dealership business office
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a supervisor or office manager role required
• Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles
• Experience with DMS systems such as ADP/Reynolds/Ignite a must
• High School diploma, college degree is preferred
• Must be able to provide references upon request
