Job summary

PSD in Philadelphia seeks a Curriculum Coordinator/Instructional Coach to raise student achievement by boosting teacher efficacy and aligning curriculum for Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing students, language development in ASL and English, bilingual strategies, and data-driven instruction across the Common Core framework.

You will collaborate with the Director of Academic Affairs and curriculum committees to develop, implement, and assess curriculum throughout the review cycle, modeling best practices

Qualifications

• Masters degree required, preferably in related areas such as Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
• At least five (5) years teaching experience in an educational setting.
• Extensive knowledge of language development, CC standards, and literacy, math, science integration.
• Fluency in ASL required.
• Understanding of Danielson Framework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure curriculum is aligned with state standards and address gaps.
• Build relationships with teachers, administrators, and other coaches.
• Use modeling and coaching to support curriculum implementation.
• Assist teachers with planning, pacing, and differentiation.
• Support resources, materials, tools, and technology for instruction.
• Monitor Curriculum-Based Assessments and progress monitoring.
• Evaluate curriculum maps and update objectives and assessments.
• Collaborate to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment and best practices.
• Provide informal observations, modeling, coaching, and feedback.
• Develop teachers’ ability to assess student understanding and use data.
• Lead professional development on targeted topics across staff.
• Collaborate with School Librarian on current resources.
• Participate in curriculum review cycles and summer stipend work.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Academic Affairs.
