Job summary

Pennsylvania School for the Deaf seeks a dedicated Teacher to provide high-quality instruction for students from Preschool through Transition Academy, using ASL as the primary communication mode. You will draft and implement IEPs, track progress, and support students’ academic, social-emotional, and language development.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will create inclusive, engaging learning experiences while aligning with the school’s mission and Deaf community role models.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency at Level 3 (ASLPI) or above required; advanced preferred.
• Experience working with Deaf children across the relevant age ranges.
• Understanding of accessible communication and inclusion in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents and districts.
• Plan and deliver instruction across Preschool through Transition Academy with ASL modeling.
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, therapists, and specialists to support student learning and development.
• Model PSD’s values: Students 1st, Language, Respect, Communication, Community Engagement.
• Maintain documentation of student progress and IEP goals.
