Job summary

The Pennsylvania School for the Deaf is seeking a Curriculum Coordinator/Instructional Coach to enhance student achievement by building teacher efficacy and curriculum fidelity for Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing students. The role collaborates with the Director of Academic Affairs and curriculum committees to develop, align, implement, and assess curriculum throughout the review cycle.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related fields.
  • Minimum five years of teaching experience in an educational setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of language development, standards, and integrating academic technology.
  • Fluency in ASL required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure curriculum is aligned with state standards and address gaps.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other coaches to support implementation.
  • Use modeling and coaching strategies to support curriculum implementation.
  • Assist teachers with planning, pacing, and differentiating lessons to meet diverse student needs.
  • Provide resources and planning support for classroom instruction and assessment.
  • Monitor curriculum maps and assessments and update objectives as needed.
  • Align vertical and horizontal curriculum across departments and grade levels.
  • Conduct informal observations with coaching feedback to improve practice.
  • Develop teachers’ abilities to assess student understanding and use data for progress.
  • Lead professional development targeted topics to build staff knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with School Librarian to ensure current student resources.
  • Participate in curriculum review cycles, potentially including summer stipend work.
