Job summary

HeartShare is seeking a DD Training Specialist to design, schedule, and deliver high-quality, compliant training for the DD Division. Training includes Pre-Service Orientation, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Autism Overview, and diverse onsite/online courses across multiple agency sites in New York City.

You will set up training rooms, manage materials, and ensure audit-ready records while complying with OPWDD and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Certified or eligible to become certified as a SCIP Instructor (or equivalent crisis-prevention/intervention instructor certification).
• Certified or eligible to become certified as a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Valid NYS driver's license may be required depending on site travel needs.
• Strong public speaking, facilitation, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver New Employee Pre-Service Orientation and Pre-Service Contingency training to all incoming staff.
• Deliver SCIP instructor certification and recertification training, including physical intervention techniques.
• Deliver CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor trainings and maintain instructor certifications.
• Deliver Autism Overview and other clinical/behavioral trainings as assigned.
• Facilitate onsite and virtual trainings on HIPAA, Infection Control, and other regulatory topics.
• Monitor completion of online courses using Paycom LMS and manage training records.
