Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring a DC Designated Trainer to train staff, supervise onboarding, and oversee safety training within the distribution center. The role involves coordinating training schedules, mentoring team members, and ensuring accurate execution of procedures across departments.

The position requires strong communication, the ability to operate forklifts, and independence. It reports to the Department Manager/Supervisor and offers a consistent evening schedule at the DC location.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Need to have strong communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Initiate and conduct office and on the job training sessions utilizing soft skills to work with a diverse workforce and facilitating a comfortable and productive learning environment.
• Work with the Department Manager/Supervisor to determine a training schedule and conduct weekly assessments to determine if the Team Member or temporary associate has a complete understanding of the training.
• Knowledge of WMS applications or ability to learn in order to complete any needed tasks and fulfill alternate roles when not conducting training.
• Communicate training progress to Sr. Department Leads and Management and make recommendations on trainees’ ability to absorb the training and ability to identify if a different department would be recommended.
• Be a positive example and role model for driving a Culture of Safety First.
• Become a mentor to the team by being available to answer the team’s questions and issues that arise that are not covered during basic trainings.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate forklift and other powered equipment essential to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
