Job summary

IPEX, a leading North American provider of advanced plastic piping systems, is seeking a Shipper in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role collaborates with the Traffic Department to ensure orders and transfers are shipped accurately, on time, and with exceptional service.

As a primary contact for drivers and customers, you will dispatch orders, manage BOLs, and maintain compliant records while aligning with C-TPAT requirements.

Qualifications

• College diploma or degree, and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar shipping, logistics, or transportation role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign orders as they are released, considering delivery timelines and destination requirements
• Maintain picking sequences based on order priority and warehouse zoning to support efficient operations
• Manage and prioritize urgent shipments and customer pick-ups
• Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) to select the most effective carrier solutions
• Dispatch orders and transfers in accordance with IPEX service and quality standards
• Monitor and track shipments through phone and online systems
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide updates on orders and deliveries
• Serve as the primary contact for drivers and customer pick-ups at the shipping desk
• Prepare and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete
• Maintain organized and compliant records and filing systems in accordance with C-TPAT requirements

Job Summary

As a Shipper, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring customer orders and transfers are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Traffic Department and cross-functional teams to coordinate shipments, manage transportation logistics, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a key point of contact for customers and drivers, you’ll represent IPEX with professionalism while helping maintain our high standards of service and quality.

Principal Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

• College diploma or degree, and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar shipping, logistics, or transportation role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Completion of certification/training will be required for Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS and C-TPAT
