Job summary

Johnstone Supply in Lancaster, TX, is seeking a DC Material Handler Lead to manage safe, efficient operations in the distribution center. You will guide a team, train new staff, and ensure accurate receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.

The role requires forklift operation and experience with inventory systems, OSHA safety knowledge, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to keep products flowing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 3+ years related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to train others.
• Experience operating forklift and warehouse equipment safely and competently.
• Experience with inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry.
• OSHA safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead team in assigned areas, ensuring safe, efficient operations.
• Operate order picker and reach truck up to 25' safely.
• Receive product by forklift or by hand and verify condition.
• Ensure shipments are accurate by inspecting freight and completing paperwork.
• Label and track products with barcodes and stock numbers.
• Pack and ship orders; document hazardous material shipments.
• Train new employees and implement procedural changes.
• Maintain warehouse equipment and safety standards.
• Coordinate with other areas to ensure smooth product flow.
