Job summary

VOA Northern California & Northern Nevada seeks dedicated Support Staff for the Nevada Cares Campus in Reno. The role involves compassionate, non-judgmental service to residents, program administration, and inter-team collaboration to meet housing and service objectives.

Responsibilities include daily operations, safety checks, property and mail management, and staff training support. Must be able to work irregular hours and comply with health and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and assist residents during emergencies.
• Organizational skills and attention to documentation.
• Comfort with following safety and confidentiality policies.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules and ensure participant observance.
• Coordinate meal service, sleeping assignments, showers, and laundry.
• Provide awake shift coverage and conduct hourly security checks.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance as needed.
• Maintain daily reports and routine housekeeping.
• Handle clerical duties and participant inquiries on shift.
• Maintain property inventories and mail operations.
• Support staff training and onboarding.
• Communicate with partners and county/state program representatives.
