Job summary

Hope Is Alive is seeking a Resident Care Specialist (Day) to support residents in a residential recovery center. You will build rapport, provide emotional encouragement, assist with daily activities, and liaise with the clinical team to support residents’ welfare.

Base responsibilities include daily rounds, supervision, and coordinating with colleagues to ensure a safe, supportive environment. This role requires calm, compassionate presence during crises and a dedication to the program’s values.

Qualifications

• PRSS certified or eligible to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
• 40 hours of training through the C-PRSS program or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Able to maintain composure in crisis situations.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport and relationships with residents, offering emotional encouragement and practical assistance throughout their stay.
• Spend individual time with each resident daily, supporting treatment goals.
• Make resident rounds, room checks, safety checks and supervision checks as prescribed.
• Provide day-time supervision of residents and perform crisis intervention as needed.
