Job summary

Hope Is Alive Ministries is seeking a Resident Care Specialist (Day) to support Healing Center residents, offering emotional encouragement and practical assistance while liaising with the clinical team. This role focuses on residents’ welfare and daily support on-site, not teaching the 45-day program.

The position requires PRSS certification or willingness to obtain, 40 hours of PRSS training, a valid driver’s license, and a strong English communication ability.

Qualifications

• PRSS certified, or willing and able to obtain certification.
• 40 hours of training through the OSDMHSAS Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (C-PRSS) program, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Able to maintain composure in crisis situations.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Experience working with individuals in recovery from addiction (preferred).
• Related college education (preferred).
• Experience in conflict resolution (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience working with individuals in recovery from addiction with a related college degree (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with residents and provide emotional encouragement and practical assistance.
• Daily one-on-one time with each resident to support treatment goals.
• Perform rounds, room and safety checks per unit policy.
• Provide daytime supervision, problem-solving, and crisis intervention as needed.
