Job summary

HomeGrown is a daytime eatery focused on kindness and community, offering a prep cook position with responsibilities across the kitchen. You’ll handle assigned prep work, learn recipes, and work in a scratch kitchen known for consistent, high-quality presented dishes.

The team emphasizes a friendly culture, early shifts, and aiming to finish by 3:30 pm, with opportunities to grow in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to follow recipes exactly as written.
• Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for up to 10 hours per day.
• Attention to detail.
• Capable of using knives and other food prep equipment.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
• Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds as many as 20 times per day.
• Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned prep work (70%).
• Set up workstation (5%).
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (10%).
• Prepare menu items according to HomeGrown's recipes, plate presentations and specifications (5%).
• Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift (5%).
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%).
