Job summary

HomeGrown, a daytime eatery, is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Kitchen Team. You will handle assigned prep work and support the cook’s station, ensuring our recipes and presentations meet our high standards in a scratch kitchen.

As a Prep Cook, you will learn all kitchen department roles, maintain cleanliness, and uphold our commitment to freshness and quality while contributing to a friendly, team-oriented environment. You will finish shifts by 3:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Attitude must be positive and eager to learn and grow.
• Able to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Able to follow recipes exactly.
• Capable of standing and moving during shifts up to 10 hours.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to move quickly and safely in a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned prep work (70%).
• Set up workstation (5%).
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (10%).
• Prepare menu items according to recipes and specifications (5%).
• Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift (5%).
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%).
