Job summary

HomeGrown, a daytime eatery, is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Kitchen Team. You will handle assigned prep work and cook’s station, maintaining our standards for presentation, quality, and timing. You will learn recipes and work cross-trained across kitchen departments.

As a scratch kitchen, Prep Cooks are central to every dish that goes to the table. This role carries responsibility for consistent, high-quality food in a fast-paced environment, cultivated through kindness.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to follow recipes exactly as written.
• Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for up to 10 hours/day.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned prep work (70%*).
• Set up workstation (5%*).
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times (10%*).
• Prepare menu items according to recipes and specifications (5%*).
• Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift (5%*).
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects (5%*).
