Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years nursing education required to be eligible for RN licensure.
• Minimum of one year in ambulatory/outpatient surgery or OR nursing.
• AHA BLS certification or equivalent required.
• ACLS required within one year of hire.
• PALS certification preferred or obtained within six months.
• Massachusetts RN license active and in good standing.
• Lift and carry capacities as listed and demonstrated patient handling ability.

Responsibilities

• Promote an organizational culture that supports excellence in care.
• Attend staff/department meetings and participate in in-services.
• Provide peri-operative nursing care using the nursing process.
• Communicate plans of care to caregivers and families.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort and quality of care.
• Cross-train/float to cover staffing needs when required.
• Assist with supplies, equipment function and housekeeping to maintain a safe environment.
• Document patient care according to procedures.
