Job summary

UPMC Shadyside is seeking two full-time daytime Solid Tumor Oncology Hospitalists to provide inpatient care for adults with solid tumor malignancies. The physicians will be board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physicians who evaluate and manage hospitalized patients and coordinate with outpatient oncology teams.

This daytime-only position features 12-hour in-hospital shifts with no overnights, and responsibilities include handoffs to the overnight team, multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an Internal Medicine residency.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine.
• Eligibility for Pennsylvania medical license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage hospitalized adults with solid tumor malignancies.
• Coordinate care with outpatient oncology teams and hand off to overnight team.
• Provide inpatient medical management and respond to acute issues.
• Coordinate consultations with medical/surgical specialists.
• Communicate with outpatient teams about inpatient plan of care.
