Job summary

UPMC Shadyside is recruiting two full-time daytime Solid Tumor Oncology Hospitalists to provide inpatient care for adults with solid tumor malignancies. Board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physicians will join a daytime-only schedule.

The physicians will evaluate and manage hospitalized patients, coordinate care with outpatient oncology teams, and ensure smooth handoffs to the overnight clinical team at shift end.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board-eligible or -certified in Internal Medicine.
• Completed Internal Medicine residency.
• Eligible for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
• Hospital medicine or cancer care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and admit patients from ED, outpatient oncology clinics, and referring hospitals.
• Provide inpatient medical management for adults with solid tumor malignancies.
• Coordinate consultations with medical and surgical specialists.
• Communicate with outpatient oncology teams and hand off to overnight team.
• Document accurately in the electronic health record and participate in quality initiatives.
