Job summary

Taher, Inc. is a family-owned and operated food service management company focused on K-12 school lunch programs. We are seeking a daytime cook for a Washington, DC assignment with no nights or weekends and opportunities for advancement. You will cook, maintain line stations, and ensure high-quality guest service.

Qualifications

• 2 years' previous food service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and change in a fast paced environment.
• Good team work approach to daily tasks.
• Do simple arithmetic.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Be able to lift 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of guest service at all times.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service period.
• Execute recipes to the letter and assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to recipe specifications.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follows and completes production sheets.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to meet deadlines in completion of daily workload.
• Set up and tear down of workstation.
• Polite and professional communication style.
• Understands and utilizes FIFO.
• Performs other related duties as requested by the leadership team.
