Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking a daytime cook to support the Department of Health & Human Services in Washington, DC. The position offers Monday through Friday daytime hours with no nights and no weekends, focusing on teamwork and guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include recipe execution, food safety compliance, portioning, and production sheet adherence. Benefits reflect a supportive work culture with opportunities for advancement and training.

Qualifications

• 2 years' previous food service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork attitude for daily tasks.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic.
• Able to follow oral and written directions.
• Able to lift 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of guest service at all times.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth service period.
• Execute recipes to the letter and assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to recipe specifications.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follows and completes production sheets.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to meet deadlines in completion of daily workload.
• Set up and tear down of workstation.
• Polite and professional communication style.
• Understands and utilizes FIFO.
• Performs other related duties as requested by the leadership team.
