Job summary

University Housing at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Hospitality Service Leader to supervise up to seven custodians, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming living spaces in a student residential community. Responsibilities include directing daily cleaning of bathrooms, lounges, laundry rooms, stairwells and dining areas, and training staff.

Qualifications

• High school plus two years of custodial experience; equivalency considered.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to issue written instructions, prepare written reports and issue clear verbal instructions.
• Able to lead and work effectively with others.
• Must understand cleaning chemicals and their dilution ratios.
• Must be able to operate all types of custodial equipment.
• Must be available via cell phone during working hours.
• Must be able to lift 35lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean areas such as bathrooms, public lounges, laundry rooms, stairwells, dining room, tile floors and carpeting.
• Fill in for staff absences.
• Supervise full-time regular and student employees in cleaning residence hall facilities.
• Assist in custodial training.
• Manage supply distribution and inventory control.
• Coordinate the transition from academic year schedules to summer conference schedules smoothly.
