Job summary

The Big Biscuit in Lawrence, KS is hiring for a breakfast kitchen role. You will prepare and cook items, set up and maintain line stations, and ensure food safety in a high-volume morning service.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or line experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain quality under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Big Biscuit recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
• Set up, stock, and maintain all line stations before, during, and after service
• Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and served promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line, prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen‑handling procedures
• Assist with prep work, portioning, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
• Communicate clearly with expo, servers, and fellow cooks to keep service running smoothly
• Monitor product levels and notify management when items need to be prepped or ordered
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
• Support teammates during peak periods to ensure fast, accurate ticket times
