The Big Biscuit in Manhattan, KS, is hiring for a kitchen/cook role during high-volume breakfast and lunch service. You\'ll prepare menu items, set up stations, follow recipes, and maintain cleanliness, while communicating with expo, servers, and fellow cooks to keep service running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have prior cooking or line experience, understand basic techniques, stay calm under pressure, and show teamwork.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or line experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and organized during busy service periods.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Big Biscuit recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up, stock, and maintain all line stations before, during, and after service.
• Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and served promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line, prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen‑handling procedures.
• Assist with prep work, portioning, labeling, and rotation of ingredients.
• Communicate clearly with expo, servers, and fellow cooks to keep service running smoothly.
• Monitor product levels and notify management when items need to be prepped or ordered.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
• Support teammates during peak periods to ensure fast, accurate ticket times
