The Big Biscuit in Overland Park, KS is seeking a dependable line cook to support high-volume breakfast and lunch service. You will prepare and cook menu items to Big Biscuit recipes, stock and maintain line stations, and ensure food safety and timely service.

Ideal candidates have prior line cook experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay calm during peak periods. Daytime hours from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm make this a great fit for a daytime schedule and secondary job.

Qualifications

• Prior cooking or line experience preferred in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork during busy service times.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Big Biscuit recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines
• Set up, stock, and maintain all line stations before, during, and after service
• Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and served promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the line, prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures
• Assist with prep work, portioning, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
• Communicate clearly with expo, servers, and fellow cooks to keep service running smoothly
• Monitor product levels and notify management when items need to be prepped or ordered
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues
• Support teammates during peak periods to ensure fast, accurate ticket times
