THOMPSON HARDWOODS INC in Hazlehurst, GA is seeking an experienced Woodyard Supervisor to oversee log yard operations at our sawmill. You will supervise personnel, coordinate log flow, and maintain safety standards to ensure yard efficiency.

Ideal candidate has supervisory experience in industrial environments, knowledge of heavy equipment, and the ability to lead a team through fast-paced outdoor conditions. Compensation includes benefits, 5-day weeks, and a structured shift.

• Supervisory experience in industrial or sawmill setting.
• Experience in log yard or heavy industrial setting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operations.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily woodyard operations, including log receiving, scaling, unloading, staging, and inventory management.
• Lead and manage yard personnel, including operators and drivers.
• Ensure safe and efficient traffic flow within the yard.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and communicate log supply needs to mill management.
• Train, coach, and evaluate employees.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure continuous mill operation.
• Address operational issues and implement process improvements.
