Job summary

Thompson Hardwoods, Inc. in Hazlehurst, GA is looking for a Sawmill Supervisor to oversee daily production in a fast-paced hardwood sawmill. You will lead production employees, ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets, and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership, working knowledge of sawmill operations, and a commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork, and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proven supervisory experience in sawmill, manufacturing, or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily sawmill production activities.
• Lead and support production employees to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Monitor workflow, equipment performance, and production output.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Train, coach, and develop team members on equipment operation and work procedures.
• Communicate production goals, schedules, and operational updates to employees.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and address equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate production and operational records.
• Promote housekeeping, organization, and safe work practices throughout the facility.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
