Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Unit Clerk on the 2 W Progressive Care Unit to support nursing staff and ensure patient privacy and comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Under RN supervision, you will handle receptionist duties, basic patient care tasks, and ensure a clean, safe environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA training or equivalent experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a Nurse Aide training program or 6 months experience as Nursing Assistant in a healthcare facility.
• BLS Certification required.
• Knowledge of keyboard/computer and data entry experience; medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs purposeful hourly rounding including: Pain, Position, Personal needs, and Possessions.
• Promptly answers telephone/call lights in a polite manner and relaying pertinent information to the appropriate staff.
• Assists nursing staff with patient care by making patient beds, giving baths, passing waters, feeding patients, providing oral care, accurate intake & output, assisting with mobilization/ambulation, daily weights, and bedside glucose testing.
