Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Same Day Surgery unit at Monmouth Medical Center - Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. This full-time, day-shift role offers growth, teamwork, and a safety-focused culture.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, safe medication administration, interprofessional collaboration, patient education, accurate EMR documentation (EPIC), and participation in rounds.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications.
• At least one year of Critical Care or Peri-Op experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for clinical changes, intervening as needed.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to ensure timely, coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families to support informed decision-making.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and promote effective communication.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support career development.
