Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a PD RN for the Same Day Surgery unit at MMC Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. The role is per diem with a day shift, providing high-quality surgical care and post-op recovery support.

The RN will perform assessments, administer meds, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, safe patient care. A NJ RN license and BLS/PALS are required, with SDS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• American Heart Association BLS, BLS & PALS certification.
• At least one year of Same Day Surgery (SDS) experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Familiar with EPIC electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor clinical changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care per policy.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate timely care.
• Educate patients and families to support informed decisions.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care transitions.
