Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team under Pharmacist supervision. You will prepare, package, document, and label drug products and handle data entry and filing for drug purchasing and inventory control.

Ideally you have at least one year of hospital pharmacy experience, strong English communication, and a California Pharmacy Technician Registration. The role supports performance improvement initiatives and may involve chemotherapy admixture

Qualifications

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.
Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy drugs.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist.
Performs all required data entry and filing associated with the process and performs functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.
Technician will participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.
