Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System - Liberty Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Perioperative area. You will provide professional nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to improve patient comfort and outcomes.

Work hours are 06:45 am to 15:15 with no call and one weekend on Sat/Sun every 4 weeks. The role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN degree required by fifth anniversary for ADN-hired nurses
• 1+ year experience as a clinical nurse
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - State Board of Nursing Kansas or Missouri or compact license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Analyses assessment data to determine diagnosis/patient care priorities.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessment for the unit.
• Develops and updates the patient plan of care.
• Documents all aspects of care per hospital policy.
• Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and revises plan of care as needed.
• Follows safety policies including med administration and handoffs.
• Involves patient/family in outcome identification and goals.
• Participates in unit/department quality improvement efforts.
