Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Liberty, MO is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) for OR days. The role focuses on professional nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to ensure safe patient care. OR experience and perioperative nursing knowledge are required.

Work hours are 06:45 am - 15:15 with no call and one weekend every 4 weeks. Minimum education includes high school graduate with ADN; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Operating Room (OR) experience and knowledge of perioperative nursing practices.
• ADN required; BSN preferred and must pursue BSN if ADN hired after 2017.
• 1+ year experience as a Clinical Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/patient care priorities.
• Collaborates and coordinates care of the patient with the interdisciplinary team.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessment specific to clinical area/unit.
• Develops and updates the patient plan of care.
• Documents all aspects of care thoroughly per hospital policy.
• Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and revises plan of care on an ongoing basis.
• Follows organizational policies in providing safe patient care at all times (med admin, handoffs, etc.).
• Implements the plan of care utilizing resources and best evidence.
• - Integrates patient and family teaching in daily routine.
• Involves patient/family in identification of expected outcomes and goals.
• - Participates in unit and/or department quality improvement efforts.
