Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks a Patient Care Technician for our Heart and Vascular Unit. Perform vital signs and daily living activities under RN supervision; follow care plans and participate in education and safety programs. Candidates must have Maryland CNA license, BLS, and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and CNA exam required.
• Maryland CNA License required.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Effective command of English language (spoken and written).
• Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.
• Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vital signs and activities of daily living under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Follow the care plan established and delegated by the RN.
• Receive report from the RN and ensure a culture of safety.
• Identify and report malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately.
