Job summary

Gillette Children’s is hiring a Patient Care Technician 0.5 FTE at the St. Paul Main Campus. This role blends clerical support with patient care in the PeriAnesthesia Department.

Shifts are Monday–Friday, 6:00am–4:30pm, and the schedule is year-round with a consistent weekly pattern. Responsibilities include assisting nurses with ADLs, venipuncture, IV starts, and transcribing orders, while helping maintain a safe environment and coordinating unit communications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers) is required; must complete within one month of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nurse with ADL needs and maintains a safe environment.
• Transcribes orders and coordinates unit supplies.
• Performs venipuncture and IV starts; assists with medical procedures.
• Coordinates intra- and interdepartmental communication to support efficient unit operations.
