Job summary

Responsibilities

• Document verbal orders for lab tests and log specimens in LIS.
• Process non-admit specimens by admitting patients and ordering tests.
• Perform analyses according to procedure manuals and maintain QC records.
• Enter results, verify accuracy, and flag abnormal or critical values.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and assist supervisor in absence.
• Coordinate training for new equipment and staff as directed.
• Contribute to QA&I activities and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in maintaining competencies for laboratory personnel.
• Provide staffing coverage for Microbiology and perform plate readings and susceptibility testing.
