Job summary

Avera Worthington Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine clinical tests, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate record-keeping. You will support phlebotomy tasks, specimen collection, and data reporting in a collaborative laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's Transcript showing completion of Medical Laboratory Technician degree.
• Technical Certificate Transcript showing completion of Medical Laboratory Technician degree.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - AMT certification within 1 year.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - ASCP certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing using established protocols with high accuracy in all laboratory departments.
• Perform calibration, quality control checks and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Review, interpret and report data; distinguish normal from abnormal parameters.
• Properly identify patients before specimen collection and explain collection procedures.
• Collect, receive and transport blood and other specimens following accepted standards; perform phlebotomy and related procedures.
• Monitor inventory and control program for lab supplies and equipment.
• Participate in quality assurance and assist during inspections.
