Job summary

Avera Windom Clinic is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our clinical team on a PRN basis. You will perform routine lab tests, maintain equipment and records, and support specimen collection with accuracy and care.

The role requires completion of an MLT program and eligibility/certification within 1 year. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with potential 4- or 8-hour shifts. Join a multidisciplinary group focused on reliable patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential job functions with adequate visual acuity and communication.
• Must be able to meet the required education and certification timelines.
• Experience or training in medical laboratory procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing in all departments with accuracy using established protocols.
• Performs calibration, quality control, and preventive maintenance on instruments.
• Identifies patients, explains collection procedures, and provides prep instructions.
• Collects, receives and transports specimens following accepted standards.
• Manages laboratory inventory and participates in quality assurance activities.
