Job summary

Avera is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technician at the Windom clinic to perform routine clinical laboratory tests with accuracy and maintain equipment. You will collect specimens, conduct quality checks, and assist in inventory and compliance activities as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires prior laboratory experience and the ability to work 8-hour or 4-hour shifts Monday through Friday, Day Shift, with pay range $22.75 to $32.75 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Transcript showing completion of Medical Laboratory Technician degree
• Technical Certificate Transcript showing completion of Medical Laboratory Technician degree
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - AMT/ASCP within 1 Year

Responsibilities

• Performs testing utilizing established protocol with a high degree of accuracy in all departments of the laboratory. Performs calibration, quality control checks and preventative maintenance steps on assigned instrumentation.
• Reviews, researches, interprets and reports data. Distinguishes between normal and abnormal clinical parameters.
• Properly identify patients before specimen collection, explain collection procedure and provide preparation and collection instructions.
• Collects, receives and transports blood and other specimens from clinic patients. Performs phlebotomy and related procedures competently.
• Implements and monitors laboratory inventory and control program.
• Responsible for resource utilization (supplies and equipment) in department.
• Participates in quality assurance program and assists during inspections and corrective actions.
