Job summary

Avera St Luke’s Hospital is hiring a Laboratory Technician to perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests and related duties. You will support day-to-day operations, ensure quality control, and communicate results accurately to healthcare providers.

The role requires a completed Medical Laboratory Technology degree, and MLS/MLT certification within 1 year or equivalent. PTO and benefits accompany this position, with rotating shifts and on-site work in Aberdeen, SD.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform day-to-day laboratory tests and procedures.
• Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to communicate results accurately to departments and providers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations of laboratory instrumentation and related duties.
• Initiates corrective action with MLS/supervisor assistance as needed.
• Performs basic to complex clinical laboratory testing following procedures and guidelines.
• Communicates laboratory data to appropriate departments and providers.
• Assesses validity of results and takes corrective action as needed.
