MercyOne Medical Group in Adel, IA seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support patient care, document interactions, and assist with procedures across the clinic. You will maintain aseptic technique, manage vitals, immunizations, injections, and coordinate with the health care team to ensure smooth workflow.

The role requires CMA/RMA eligibility, BLS certification, and completion of an accredited MA program, with cross-coverage across clinic areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
• CMA or RMA certification must be obtained within the first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within three months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within three months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Recognizes urgent/emergent needs and initiates appropriate emergency procedures.
• Follows clinic procedures for electronic medical record management and documentation.
• Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and supports team assessment of patient data.
• Performs basic medical assistant tasks (vitals, rooming, assist with procedures, immunizations, injections) under provider supervision.
• Maintains aseptic technique and clean exam rooms; documents interactions accurately in EMR.
