Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Britt, Iowa, is seeking a Maintenance Technician L1 for a day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm, Mon–Fri) at our egg processing facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support reliability initiatives to keep production running.

Join a safety‑driven team and use CMMS to record work, stock parts, and assist with process improvements. A high school diploma and 1 year of maintenance experience are preferred; SAP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate preferred.
• 1 year of experience as an industrial maintenance technician preferred.
• Ability to read and decipher mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and P&ID diagrams preferred.
• Prior experience in SAP preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate with reliability and maintenance team members to ensure personal safety, quality, delivery, and cost, are continuously being improved to achieve company objectives.
• Learn and execute and champion Precision Maintenance techniques ensuring procedural compliance and that job tolerances are met.
• Execute technical troubleshooting tasks working with experienced maintenance personnel.
• Actively participate in maintenance training for maintenance personnel.
• Actively participate in following reliability procedures for critical spares and parts.
• Actively participate in implementing quality commissioning procedures for rebuilt or new equipment.
• Actively participate and assist maintenance craftsman during precision maintenance assignments.
• Utilize MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support reliability reporting and decision making.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date records as required.
• Provides input for root cause analysis and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement.
• Promote Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
