Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a day shift PRN position at a small-format hospital in Texas. The LVN will provide safe, compassionate, and focused nursing care under supervision of an RN, following the patient’s plan of care and state nurse practice act.

Two years of LVN/LPN experience in an acute care setting and active BLS/ACLS are required; Pedagogy IV must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School diploma or G.E.D and graduated from an approved licensed practical nurse/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN).
• Experience Required: Two years of relevant experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in an acute care setting
• Certification/Licenses/Registration Required: Current license as LVN/LPN in the practicing state; BLS & ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; Pedagogy IV Certification within 30 days of hire
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
• Pennsylvania LVN's: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, compassionate nursing care to assigned patients with predictable health care needs as directed by the RN and patient plan of care.
• Performs assigned responsibilities to promote quality and safe patient care and excellent customer service.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation of patient care reflecting the plan of care.
• Completes focused patient assessments per state regulations and organizational policies.
• Administers medications in accordance with the organization’s policies.
• Reports data to assist in identifying problems and formulating goals/outcomes with patients and families.
