Job summary

Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy support role to assist with patient care and specimen handling in a fast-paced hospital lab setting.

The position supports doctors, nurses and medical laboratory scientists by ordering, receiving and delivering samples, and providing clerical and customer service support, with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare related program in progress preferred.
• Previous healthcare or clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes EMR/LIS to place orders, receive specimens, route specimens, track specimens, store specimens, label specimens, and query test results.
• Provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the department; answers phones and assists nursing floor, physicians, and staff.
• Communicates test results to nursing units/physician offices, electronically or in print form.
• Monitors and maintains supply inventory; assists in training new associates.
