Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is hiring a Cook (S) at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton. You will prepare a variety of foods and modified foods, using steaming, baking, boiling and other methods, and maintain daily inventory.

This on-site role requires cleaning and sanitizing as well as flexibility to work in other departmental areas. Shift: 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience in food preparation that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade equivalent to one year of experience in a commercial and/or institutional setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of foods and modified foods using various cooking methods.
• Maintain daily food and supply inventory.
• Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment.
• Be flexible to work in other departmental areas as needed.
