Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of experience in food preparation in a large or institutional kitchen.
• General knowledge of methods of preparation and cooking of food in quantity lots.
• Considerable knowledge of the uses and adaptabilities of various cooking equipment in institutional kitchens.
• Basic knowledge of food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to menus provided by dietary management and supervisors.
• Determine cooking times to complete portions at the prescribed serving time.
• Operate and maintain cooking equipment safely.
• Minimize food waste and ensure sanitation standards are met.
• Follow standard recipes and therapeutic modifications as required.
