Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities and community involvement. This full-time day-shift role focuses on dignity, safety, and independence within residential settings.

You will provide person-centered support, assist with daily living activities, medication support, and transportation while promoting meaningful routines and community participation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of prior experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).
• Medical case management experience.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs throughout the day.
• Assist individuals with daily living needs, including meal preparation, medication support, household responsibilities, personal care, and transportation.
• Reinforce healthy routines, practical skills, personal responsibility, and decision-making that promote greater independence.
• Support individuals in working toward the goals outlined in their individualized service plans and recognize progress along the way.
