Job summary

The Arc Ocean County Chapter is hiring Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ocean County residential homes. The role emphasizes dignity, independence, and personal choice, with hands-on daily living support and community participation.

Evening shifts 3:00 PM-11:00 PM with bi-weekly pay; full-time and part-time opportunities available. Training is provided to develop professional skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills required for interaction with individuals, families, and team members.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and good judgment.
• Demonstrated stability in prior employment and reliability in a caregiving role.
• Flexibility to adapt to evening shifts and weekend requirements.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Completion of required background checks and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and routines to promote independence and comfort.
• Support community involvement and healthy, structured daily activities.
• Document care and updates accurately and on time in electronic systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment for residents.
• Monitor health and safety needs and respond to changes in residents’ condition.
