Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a full-time, day-shift role to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings and community-linked activities.

The DSP will bring reliability, compassion, and strong communication skills, with medical case management experience as a valued asset. The organization emphasizes dignity, safety, and independence through teamwork and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of prior Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience.
• Medical case management experience.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing with no more than five (5) points.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support in residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living programs throughout the day.
• Assist individuals with daily living needs, including meal preparation, medication support, household responsibilities, personal care, and transportation.
• Reinforce healthy routines, practical skills, personal responsibility, and decision-making that promote greater independence.
• Support individuals in working toward the goals outlined in their individualized service plans and recognize progress along the way.
