Job summary

Oak Hill in Glastonbury, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional on the Day Shift. You’ll provide person-centered support in a residential setting, helping individuals with daily living, health monitoring, and community participation.

The role offers 40 hours weekly, Monday–Friday 6am–2pm, with competitive pay of 20.03 per hour, paid training, advancement opportunities, generous PTO, and strong benefits. A valid driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and ability to transport individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuity of care, including occasional overtime.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, grooming, bathing, dressing, and hygiene needs, based on individual preferences and support plans.
• Monitor health information and administer medications per training and plans.
• Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community events.
• Document daily activities, health information, progress notes, and medication administration in the EHR.
• Follow emergency procedures, support behavioral needs, and ensure safety of individuals served.
